From an original watercolour by Samantha Symonds, this is perfect for celebrating Imbolc.
The British artist specialises in depicting nature and the way it fits into the Wheel of the Year. In the picture, the artist has painted sheep in the fields as “Imbolc” means “Ewe’s Milk”. The festival occurs as the first snowdrops appear and there is a Saint Brigid cross, as the saint is also associated with is day.
The card measures 18cm x 12.5cm and includes an envelope. It is blank inside for you to write your own message.
On the back of the card are the words:-
“Imbolc | Candelmas
Beginning of February
The first stirrings of Spring as the Earth awakes.
Imbolc literally means ‘in milk’ – in reference to pregnant ewes”.
