Salems Familiar Box

Lisa Parker has combined a Gothic raven with a skull depicting the town of Salem in this fascinating box.

The design is taken fro the artist’s painting ‘Salems Familiar’.  On top of the box is a black raven holding the symbol of a pentagram in its talons.  The bird is perched upon an antique skull.  If you look closely, you will see that it is covered with a map of Salem in America where the Witch Trials took place in the 1690’s.

The lid of the box lifts off to reveal a shallow oval space withing.  The piece has been cast in resin and then hand-painted in the finest detail.  If you look underneath the box you will notice even more detail on the skull.

The total height of the box (to the top of the raven) is 27cm.  The space inside measures 13cm long by 9cm across.
